The 1928 Churchman's Cigarettes Lawn Tennis is a UK Tobacco card set that features pictures of many of the greatest tennis players of the time. The issue includes male and female players with black and white images on the front and a short biography of the player on the back. The cards were distributed with Churchman cigarette products. Notable names in the set include Rene Lacoste, Bill Tilden, and Helen Wills-Moody. Bill Tilden dominated the world of international tennis in the 1st half of the 1920s and during his 20-year amateur period from 1911 to 1930. During this time frame, he won an unprecedented 138 of 192 tournaments and was ranked the world's #1 amateur for 6 consecutive years from 1920-1925. He owns several all-time tennis achievements, including career match-winning record and career-winning percentage at the U.S. Championships.
