瓶作半剖蓋罐式，後壁平坦露胎，設有二孔可穿繫固定於牆面或轎子之內，故有壁瓶 或轎瓶之稱。蓋呈斜展瓜棱，瓜蒂形金鈕，束頸，圓肩，鼓腹下弧收，足微撇。器面 連續菱形綠彩花瓣格紋邊飾，映稱以粉紅、藍料彩為主體花瓣，形成繽紛華美的錦地 紋。外壁凸起雕飾礬紅錦帶繫結，隨錦帶起伏曲褶，飾以描金皮球花，中央袱繫結， 色彩奪目，呈現立體美感。足底礬紅描金橫書「乾隆年製」四字篆書款。整體配色雅 致又不乏華貴之氣，賞心悅目。清宮舊藏，北京故宮博物院庋藏清乾隆〈粉彩開光山 水鏤空蓋瓶〉，塔式蓋瓶造型新穎，與本器相似，可資參考，二者皆顯示出乾 隆時期瓷器創新與高超繪製水準。

袱繫紋，又稱包袱紋，是以束帶織物為原型，施釉、刻劃或堆塑在 器物上的一種紋飾，此種裝飾手法與古人用袱巾裹攜名貴物品以作 獻禮的風尚有著密切關係。

袱繫紋由繩紋演變而來，由提拿器具的真繩演變為裝飾器身之紋樣，其功能由實用性 轉向裝飾性，成為一種獨特美感。一般用於宮廷御用品裝飾，常見於瓷器、琺瑯器、 玻璃器，尚見漆器、玉器等。因「包袱」與「包福」、「百福」諧音，寓意吉祥。相似 之例如台北國立故宮博物院庋藏清雍正〈銅胎畫琺瑯包袱式孔雀尾鼻煙壺〉及 清宮舊藏，北京故宮博物院庋藏清乾隆〈銅胎畫琺瑯袱繫紋蓋罐〉，其獨特器 形，優美流暢的袱繫紋飾，帶有美好之意，在雍正、乾隆時期開始流行。

「壁瓶」亦稱「轎瓶」，此種將瓶子做成半剖造型，其背後有掛孔， 可貼合壁面，以方便懸掛於牆上，出現於明清時期，始燒於明萬曆 時期。萬曆十九年高濂《遵生八箋》云 :「床內後柱上釘銅鉤，用 掛壁瓶，四時插花，人作花伴，清芬滿床，臥之神爽意快，冬夏兩 可」；清代大量生產，尤以乾隆時期最為多見。

從傳世品及《清檔》資料可知，乾隆帝曾多次下旨燒 造壁瓶，用以裝飾內廷及文房陳設。在造型方面多姿 多彩，有葫蘆形、包袱式、瓜棱式等，其製作精美， 品種豐富，遠非前朝所比，且又可與建築裝飾、雕塑 藝術相結合，是中國陶瓷器形中極為特殊的品種。

乾隆朝長達六十年，是清代封建社會發展的鼎盛時期，瓷器生產空 前繁榮。《古銅器考》稱讚乾隆製瓷業是「有陶以來，未有今日之 美備」。藍浦所著《景德鎮陶錄》記載：「陶至今日器則美備，工則 良巧，色則精全；仿古法先，花樣品式、咸月異歲不同矣。而御窯 監造，尤為超越前古。」其中彩瓷占有極高比例，琺瑯彩、粉彩等 瓷器，皆達到藝術史上的新高度，且造型更加豐富多元，可謂迎來 空前絕後的巔峰。本件清乾隆〈粉彩錦地袱繫紋壁瓶〉，一改雍正 時期靈秀典雅風格，轉而傾向追求製作工藝精細，紋飾華麗繁縟。 不僅在造型方面趨於多樣化，以繪畫和堆貼相結合，在設色用彩等 裝飾工藝上更有其獨特表現，別具風姿。
