牌以白玉雕琢，呈長方片狀，質地瑩潤剔透，凝脂若雪，勻稱厚實。額首鏤雕雙螭龍相 視，中間置寶珠，貫穿一孔，可用於繫掛。牌身兩側鏤雕相視螭龍，龍身軀向下延展成 長方形邊框。雙面紋飾相同，淺浮雕獸面紋，眼上眉線向內翻捲，圓形寶珠鼻，形態古 樸，再以變形威嚴的獸面上下呼應，加強裝飾效果，更添其古樸風韻。

玉牌的雕刻最早出現於明代，功能為佩戴和玩賞。至清代，雕刻工藝達到登峰造極。古 書上曾記載：「古之君子必佩玉。」將玉比作君子，可見佩戴玉牌是當時地位及身分的 表徵。本件玉牌獸面紋飾復古神秘，象徵權力和崇高地位。其間的地子光澤碾磨入微， 線條準確，剛柔並濟，相輔相成，為清代牌件中上選之作。
