528 十八世紀 白玉雙蟹紙鎮

紙鎮取整料白玉雕製而成，玉質溫潤緻密，色澤潔白溫雅。雕琢二河蟹憩息於蘆葉叢 之上，河蟹仿生狀，蟹呈方圓形，身體前端有一對眼，圓渾高凸，熠熠閃爍。殼微 隆，其上凹凸起伏，殼緣依形參差長滿絨毛，身前一雙巨螯相交，鉗住蟹身下的蘆葉 與蘆花，螯足之後有四對步足，矯健有勁。蘆葉似水波盪漾，輕柔如飄舞彩帶，具極 強藝術性及感染力。

據《史記》索引，上傳語告下為臚。傳臚之制始於宋代，進士在集英殿宣唱名次之 日，皇帝至殿宣唱，由閤門承接，轉傳於階下，衛士六七人皆齊聲傳名而高呼，稱為 傳臚，世稱「金殿傳臚」；至明代，稱會試第一名為會元，二三甲第一為傳臚；至 清則專稱二甲第一名為傳臚。北京故宮博物院庋藏清中期〈和田白玉雙蟹鎮紙〉（圖 一）其年代、題材、形制及技法，與本件紙鎮極為類似，皆設計為兩隻螃蟹穿行於蘆 葦中，作「二甲傳臚」之意，意寓科舉及第。

紙鎮是文人書房不可缺少的用具之一，最早文字記錄為南北朝時期，《南史．垣榮 祖傳》：「帝嘗以書案下安鼻為楯，以鐵為書鎮如意，甚壯大，以備不虞，欲以代 杖」。又宋張鎡詩：「三山放翁寶贈我，鎮紙恰稱金犀牛」。多為長方條形，也稱作 鎮尺、壓尺，既可壓平書頁，又是文玩之物，閒暇於掌中把玩，可助文思泉湧，堪稱 文房「第五寶」。明清時期，紙鎮承襲前朝風格並有所創新，隨工藝技術進步，出現 富有裝飾趣味之作，可謂集觀賞性與實用性於一器。

而特別以河蟹作紙鎮，陳設於文房案頭，備受文人雅士青睞，以二甲傳臚藉祝「官 運亨通、前程似錦」之美好願望。本件十八世紀〈白玉雙蟹紙鎮〉，整器採圓雕、鏤 雕、浮雕及陰刻線等技法雕製而成，結構繁複，細節一絲不苟，蟹形象生動傳神。整 體線條流暢，造型刻劃自然，得天然渾樸之意趣。置於文房，賞心悅目，亦體現文人 特有的審美情趣。
