2 Zanskar Coats, Northern India, Circa 1900. A Sulman resist-dyed woman’s coat, composed of gusseted panels of tie and dyed hand-loomed wool. Variations of color and composition serve as regional group identification, with entire groups wearing garments with the same color scheme and composition. Sizes: 3'10'' x 4'8'' (117 x 142 cm); 2) 3'6'' x 4'11'' (107 x 150 cm).
