Description
An Edwardian silver three piece tea service, comprising teapot, sugar bowl and cream jug, each having embossed foliate scrolling enclosing central vacant cartouche to central body, and pierced rim of conforming design. Hallmarked William Mammatt & Son, Sheffield 1905. Maximum height of teapot 11.5cm, gross overall weight 22.7ozt (706.7g).
Condition Report:- Items show some general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing.
- Teapot and jug are shinier and brighter than bowl, which shows some dark tarnishing.
- Plain area around base to teapot appears quite bumpy and uneven, with some bashing and dints. Repairs to this area evident from interior.
- One balled foot to teapot is compressed, visible from interior, so item wobbles when pressure exerted.
- Gauge is quite thick, so pierced rims to all appear intact and even.
- Embossing to all pieces shows polish residue.
- Hallmarks clear and legible.
- Condition reports are offered as a guide only and we highly recommend inspecting any lot to satisfy yourself as to its condition.
