British, circa 1880, attributed to E.W. Godwin, turned an ebonized frame with caned back and seat fitted with loose cushions, 44 x 18 x 18-1/2 in.
Provenance: Halsam & Whiteway, London, England; The Collection of Clare and Jared Edwards, West Hartford, Connecticut
Condition
good condition, structurally sound and ready for use, caning in good repair, bumps and wear to ebonizing with some possible retouch, cracks with possible repairs at rear stiles, loose cushions with some light wear and possible fading, rear seat rail with some distress and three protruding wrought nails
