Museum Classic:

The legendary quadrant Museum of Movado, an icon of contemporary watchmaking, holds a story out of the ordinary. This dial inspired by the Bauhaus movement was designed in 1946 by the American artist Nathan George Horwitt. Time, according to the latter, must not be perceived as a succession of sequences but felt through the course of the Sun. Its interpretation of the dial, entirely empty with only one disc at 12 oclock, is of absolute avant-garde at that time, at so much so that its prototype will be the first watch to be included in the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art in New York in 1959. Adopted by Movado, it has since been one of the best-sellers of the Swiss brand. The deep black dial is enhanced by the golden hands and the famous zenithal concave index representing the Sun at the zenith. This new version of absolute sobriety is a further confirmation of the timeless character of this design.
