Ancient Egypt, Late Dynastic Period, 26th to 31st Dynasty, ca. 664 to 332 BCE. A hand-carved stone amulet of the goddess Isis feeding her infant son Horus who sits in her lap. The light yellow and beige-hued stone shows the deity seated upon a throne much in the shape of her headdress, with a suspension hole drilled through the dorsal pillar. Size: 0.71" L x 0.43" W x 1.59" H (1.8 cm x 1.1 cm x 4 cm)
Provenance: private Danvers, Massachusetts, USA collection, acquired by descent; ex-USA collection, acquired before 2000
