Ancient Near East, Northwestern Iran / Turkey, Luristan, late Bronze to early Iron Age, ca. 2000 to 600 BCE. A collection of 3 ancient bronze spear tips, each with cylindrical socketing shafts for mounting on a wooden pole. The spear with the smallest blade head was allegedly from the border region between Iran and Afghanistan according to previous seller's COA. Size of largest: 7" L x 1.6" W (17.8 cm x 4.1 cm)
Provenance: private Everett, Massachusetts, USA collection; smallest spear acquired from BC Galleries, Armadale, Austalia in 2003; larger spears both acquired from Art Ancient, UK, in 2014; ex-Private British collection.
