**Originally Listed At $300**
Central Asia or Eastern Persia, Samanid Empire, Islamic culture, likely Nishapur, ca. 10th to 12th century CE. A beautiful pottery bowl featuring flared walls and an annular foot, all enveloped in white, black, and turquoise glaze. The interior of the bowl is intricately hand-painted to display 4 quadrants, each filled with a floral motif atop a lattice pattern. Blobs of color are applied to the surface with a transparent glaze on top, and then the whole piece is fired - with these colored pigments running and dripping to produce the streaky or splashed appearance. Size: 6.1" Diameter x 2.7" H (15.5 cm x 6.9 cm)
