Description
**First Time At Auction**
Native American, Western United States, Plains / Southwestern United States, ca. mid-20th century CE. A beaded belt or hat strap made from loom woven beadwork on a thick cotton backing. At the tips are grommets and leather cords for tying in place, as well as loom woven tassels. The beading has southwestern motifs: red buttes, arrows, eagle feathers, and thunderbirds. This was likely made for a trade post / gift shop as it deviates from traditional designs and appears to be crafted specifically for the curio trade and tourists. Size: 31" L x 2" W (78.7 cm x 5.1 cm)
