Native American, Southwestern United States, New Mexico, Acoma Pueblo, ca. mid 20th to 21st century CE. A collection of 4 miniature pottery figurines and an oven kiln in the characteristic Acoma style with hand painted details. The pieces are signed on the bases with names of different artisans and the pueblo name "Acoma." The most adorable of the group can easily fit on the face of a penny, a mother holding 3 children made by the artist Judy Shields and signed on the base. A larger version of a seated mother is presented with 2 children and a large pottery jar on her lap, the underside signed "P.C." Next is a group of children being taught by a woman to make pots, the seated figures rest upon a flat base and the underside is signed "J.C." The last piece is a miniature kiln with pottery waiting to be fired, the underside signed "I. Castillo." The rich history of Pueblo pottery art is charmingly represented by these individual diorama-esque pieces! Size of largest: 2.75" L x 1.75" W x 1.25" H (7 cm x 4.4 cm x 3.2 cm)

Condition
Largest piece is repaired with visible break line across base. Losses to pots and arms on these figures as well. The other figures and kiln are intact. Some fading and chips to pigments, but overall very good, and each is signed on the base.
