This unique Patek Philippe has an unusual hand constructed contracted case. Contracted cases were made by jewelers that had an account with Patek Philippe and were allowed to buy their movements. Tiffany, Shreve, Bailey Banks and Biddle as well as many other American houses bought movements from Patek Philippe. This was normal for the era and all watch companies sold their movements to jewelers for this same purpose. Rolex, Vacheron, Omega, Audemars and all the other major Swiss houses participated in this program. This piece is entirely hand constructed and made in yellow and white gold. The case is large and heavy and beautifully finished. The watch is fitted with Pateks famous caliber movement the 18 Jewel 9/90 and it keeps excellent time. This is a unique oversized watch which you will never see again.
