Art Deco bronze sculpture by Maurice Guiraud-Riviere (French, 1881-1947). Has a granite base. Is approx 19" x 7" x 15" and it weighs 45lbs. The sculpture is in a good, vintage condition with some scratches on the bronze. Please see the images as they are part of the description.
Maurice Guiraud-Rivière was born in Toulouse, France on February 10, 1881, and died in 1947. He was multitalented; a painter, draftsman, and sculptor.
He was a student at the Ecole Nationale des Beaux-Arts with Antonin Mercie also a native of Toulouse. Exhibited at the Salon of French Artists from 1907, and also at the Salon des Comedians.
He is best known as an Art Deco sculptor of numerous statues; mainly of women, sports figures, or of aviation and automotive themes.
