Description
SHENANDOAH VALLEY OF VIRGINIA, PAINT-DECORATED AND STENCILED PINE VIOLIN CASE, brown grain-painted ground with gold, green and salmon-color decorations, top with swags and flower scrolls around edges, stenciled bird, heart and leaves in center, and brass oval with bail handle, front with stenciled "I R YOUNG", birds, star, and laurel leaves. Velvet fitted interior with applied blue heart. Found in Augusta Co. Second quarter 19th century. 5" H, 30" x 9 3/4".
