Handwritten letter dated "Safford, March 10 1879 This letter reveals the depth of the cowboy violence in Arizona. The nephew owned the mercantile store in Safford and wrote to his uncle, Lional Jacobs, in Tucson. Lional Jacobs started the first bank in Tombstone.
