Description
Made in Mali near the Tenere Desert, but purportedly found in the Faiyum Valley of Egypt, dating to about 7000 to 5000 BCE. Knapped stone implements. Egypt has a very rich Palaeolithic past, dating from the Lower Palaeolithic. The Faiyum plays a fundamentally important role in developing an understanding of Egyptian prehistory. As well as a distinctive Epipalaeolithic industry, it has some of the earliest evidence in Egypt of agricultural activities. 5-1/4"H x 3"W & 4-1/2"H x 2"W.
