The cross in silvered gold with blue enamel to the symmetrical sides alternating with diamond encrusted fleur-de-lis, the center with a green, blue, and red insignia over gold encircled with diamonds.
The Royal and Distinguished Spanish Order of Charles III was established by King Carlos III of Spain in 1771 to honor citizens whose actions have benefited Spain and the Crown. The breast pin descending by oral tradition from Manuel de Amat y Junient, to whom it was presented in 1773.
Condition
With surface scratches to enamel and to silvered gold commensurate with age and use.
