Pair of Italian Baroque Carved Altar Vases with Floral Iron Candelabra Inserts, mid-18th century, the carved wooden vases with raised scrollwork and scrolled handles, and set with later iron standards in the form of lilies interspersed with pricket sticks, framed by bowknots and ribbons, h. 62-3/4", w. 20", d. 8".

There are minor old repairs to the handles with some filler added to compensate for shrinkage. The gessoed surface of the carved bases shows some flaking. Some scattered touch-up. The lip edge of one base has an old repair. The wrought iron prickets are fine with no signs of damage or losses, and retain a good overall surface and patina.
