Description
A 1890's quality grandfather clock. Case made in Philadelphia with a high grade Elliot English movement of the same period with 8-bell chimes and gong Westminster chimes. Hand-painted moon dial and three-weight driven movement in excellent condition. The elaborate mahogany case in original finish stands on a carved claw foot base. Case has elaborate garlands and turnings with arched pediment and gallery top. It retains its original beveled glass doors and is in excellent working condition. It measures 98" tall x 22" across x 13" deep. This stunning working turn of the century grandfather clock would make a fabulus condition to any home. Estimated value $4500 - $5500. The provenance: This grandfather clock was custom made for the Eschweiler family in the 1890's and descended through the family to Alexander Eschweiler, Terrace Ave., Milwaukee. Upon his passing it is now being sold by Cedarburg Auction Co.
