Description
An early 19th century English grandfather clock. 8-day time and strike movement with allegorical hand-painted dial, Roman numerals and subsidiary date aperture. Mahogany case with broken arch top having scrolled fretwork and floral bosses with a molded dial door flanked by fluted columns over a waist door with fluted pilasters and molded base. Older finish with minor wear, replaced feet, not running, lacks weight cables, movement quite dirty. 87" high. ESTIMATE $1,000-1,500
