A thick volume in-8vo, full vellum, handwritten letterings at spine, blue sprinkled edges, pp. 655, [8]. Text in Latin and Ancient Greek.
Woodcut Pope Barberini's «bee» at recto of last leaf.
Extremely scarce edition, printed by Congregatio de Propaganda Fide, containing the relate and reflections on the First Council of Ephesus, in which Cyril, Saint patriarch of Alexandria, defended the thesis of the divine nature of Jesus and Holy Mary’s status as mother of God.
The Congregation of the Propagation of the Faith is a Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples. Since 1626, it has housed in Palazzo di Propaganda Fide, a palace located in Rome, designed by Gian Lorenzo Bernini, then Francesco Borromini. Since 1929, this palace is an extraterritorial property of the Holy See.
