Description
East Tennessee cherry candlestand, attributed to the cabinet maker Jacob Fisher who lived and worked in McMinn County (working 1837 - 1843). Illustrated in the book Art & Mystery of Tennessee Furniture, Fig. 98, page 121 (pictured on the right). Consisting of a rectangular top with shaped corners, baluster and ring-turned pedetal with notched carving at base and tripod arched legs. Top secured with iron latch. 26" H x 22" W x 16-5/8" D. Provenance - Estate of Bill Selden, Athens, TN.
Condition
Refinished with old repairs to cracks to top. Newer hardware screws and latches added.
