Eighteen pieces assorted American silver table and serving spoons, coin and sterling. Includes 13 coin silver tablespoons, all mid 19th century fiddle patterns, from various American makers. Marks include Stockman & Pepper of Philadelphia (4); Chaffee & Baird of Hartford, CT (2); and 1 each by Harvey Filley of Philadelphia; Palmer & Batchelder of Boston; Bailey & Co. of Philadelphia; H.S. Parson and H. P. Elias; and 2 with worn, illegible marks. Also includes 5 sterling silver spoons, late 19th century through 20th century: an Old Newbury Crafters hand wrought fiddle style serving or casserole spoon with maker's mark Robert Lapham, circa 1965; a Wallingford fiddle style pattern sterling serving or casserole spoon; 2 Knowles sterling tablespoons in antique oval pattern with retailer mark for A. Stowell of Boston; and 1 sterling tablespoon in antique oval style pattern marked 925 with retailer mark for Crosby, Morse and Foss of Boston. Total combined weight of coin silver: 19.525 oz troy. Total combined weight sterling: 11.56 oz troy. Provenance - Estate of Bill Selden, Athens, TN.
Condition
1 with worn marks has a repair to shaft, all others in overall good to very good condition with some scattered light dents and scratches and monograms.
