Description
We are very pleased to present this scarce & large 1910-1911 Dugan Peach Opalescent footed bowl or compote in the Caroline pattern, and featuring the rare M crimp rim. Sometimes referred to as the Ribbon Candy Edge, this configuration emulates the classic English Stevens & Williams M crimp, and an exact match can be seen on Page #29 of Dugan & Diamond Carnival Glass 1909 to 1931 / by Carl O. Burns. Peach Opalescent glass by Dugan is a prime collectible color, and our example features lovely graduating white to the solid Opalescent rim. Our large compote weighs 1# 6 oz. and measures 8.75 x 8.75 x 3.75 inches tall. Dugan Peach Opalescent items appear in the Fall 1910 Butler Brothers catalog and continued to appear through the Spring 1911 issue.
