We are very pleased to showcase this next lot representing a fine Bohemian blown glass, hand painted Mary Gregory cylinder vase from the early 1920s through the mid 1930s. This is very likely by Julius Muhlhaus, and the gorgeous deep Ruby vase features the heavy pre-WW II thick walled form, with a handsome crowned scalloped rim finished in fine gilding. Please observe the exceptional depth and precision of the covering Ivory enamels, especially with the young girl and the ground. The feathering of the Ivory enamel reduces the bas-relief effect in the ancillary images, but is strong enough to maintain the integrity (opaque nature) of the associated florals, both on the obverse and the reverse. This is always a pre-WW II Bohemian finishing trait, and no-one did a finer job of enamel details than Julius Muhlhaus. Our beautiful vase weighs 1# 2 oz., measures 4 x 4 x 6.25 inches tall, and is in excellent condition. xxxxxxxxxxxx. As a collectors note: The renowned firm of Julius Muhlhaus in Novy Bor, was prolific in its supply of hand painted Mary Gregory items. Any pieces that are newer than 1945 however, cannot be Muhlhaus, as Julius passed in that year, and his wife Erika was only able to support the company for a very short time.
