An extensive late Victorian electro-plated tea service by Barker Brothers, Birmingham, circa 1900, retailer's stamped marks for Richard Wright, Manchester, also Arabic script, embossed or engraved throughout with scroll work, comprising: a hot-water urn on stand, 86cm high; a circular twin handled tray, on four detachable legs, 79cm wide; another smaller similar with detachable biscuit box, tea caddy and sugar basin, 62cm wide, an oval tray similar, 72cm long; and a pair of tea pots Given by the king of Morocco, Hassan II, to the Italian gynaecologist Professor Pietro Marziale, on the safe delivery of his son Crown Prince Sidi Mohammed born on 21st August 1963. He acceded to the throne on 23rd July 1999, upon the death of his father, as Mohammed VI and is the current king. Sold with a photograph of the Crown Prince aged 6 years old and a newspaper reporting the news of the royal birth.
