This work is stamped with the Guy Rose estate stamp, signed by Ethel Rose and Earl Stendahl and dated 1933. A written inscription from Ethel Rose, dated 13 March 1933, is also affixed verso: I hereby certify that this picture was painted by Guy Rose. Provenance: The artist; Stendahl Galleries, Los Angeles, CA, circa 1933; Mr. and Mrs. Harrison B. Riley, San Marino, CA; Dorothy Riley Brown, Los Angeles, CA; by descent to Kennth G. Condition
Visual: Generally good condition. A .75'' x .5'' older loss along the upper center edge. Surface dirt. As stated, the painting's signature was detected under the glaze in the lower right (see report from FACL, Santa Barbara, CA). Blacklight: No evidence of restoration under blacklight.
