Description

American Rococo Revival Carved Walnut Bed, 19th c., the arched head and footboard each with applied foliate, floral and scroll carving, the rails with scroll brackets and the footboard with wrap ends, H.- 84 in., Int. W.- 58 in., Int. D.- 74 in.

Condition

Condition consistent with age and use. Minor nicks and scuffs throughout the wood, especially on the interior of the footboard. Several sections of carving lacking on the right post on the headboard (see photo). There is a ½” section of carving lacking from the lower right side of the foliate carving in the center of the headboard. The carved trefoil on the right end of the footboard is loose but attached. The cap is lacking from the metal bracket on the lower interior of the left wrapped end. Bed slats not included.
