Description

Pair of French Empire Style Parcel Gilt Lacquered Pedestals, 20th c., the circular top over a gilt foliate band, on a reeded column with gilt foliate decoration, above leaf and foliate bands, to a circular plinth base, H.- 33 in., Dia.- 19 in.

Condition

Condition consistent with age and use. The paint is chipped and there is heavy surface scratching on the tops of both pedestals. One column has a 3” crack along the outside edge of the top surface and a 1” crack near the edge of the top surface. The same column is lacking a 2” section of gilt trim on the base. The other column is also lacking a 1” section of gilt trim around the base. There is light wear to the column shafts. Moderate wear and scuffing around the bases. ALL PROPERTY IS SOLD “AS IS.” NO STATEMENT REGARDING CONDITION OF ANY ITEM, WHETHER IT IS MADE ORALLY AT THE AUCTION OR ANY OTHER TIME, OR IN WRITING IN THE CATALOGUE OR ELSEWHERE, SHALL BE DEEMED TO BE A WARRANTY, REPRESENTATION, OR ASSUMPTION OF LIABILITY.
