Scarce Cincinnati Copper Tea Kettle Signed John Wolf
American (Cincinnati), 19th century. A gooseneck copper tea kettle with handle marked John Wolf, Cincinnati; ht. 12.75 in.
Originally from Pennsylvania, John Wolf relocated to Cincinnati where, according to the Robinson & Fairbank Cincinnati Directory of 1829, he worked as a tinner. By 1839, he was listed as a dealer in stoves, copper, and tin-ware with a shop on Main Street between Ninth and Court. At the same time, he maintained a residence on Canal between Vine and Race.
