A beautiful rock crystal and gold cane with a coat of arms. The oval rock crystal handle is 3 1/2” high and 1 1/8” at its widest. There is a rounded dome top that is framed by a 1/8” gold ring. Beneath the dome, there is a multi-colored enameled coat of arms with initials, surmounted by a ducal crown. An additional 1/4” gold ring with tiny worn hallmarks, perhaps French, is at the handle’s base. The oval shaft is black-enameled hardwood with a 7/8” oval horn ferrule. The overall length is 36 1/4” and the condition is very good, with some minor surface scratches on the rock crystal. It is ca 1900 and it is lovely example with perhaps a nobility history.
