Her father, a prominent newspaper correspondent, lived where his work took him, primarily London and Paris, inspiring in Jean her love of cultures and language. As the first public relations executive in Italy for Howard Hughes and TWA and then spending forty plus years as Director of Public Relations at one of the world's best hotels, Villa d' Este on Lake Como, Italy, Jean's life was filled with encounters with some of the most notable people of the last century. In the Foreward of Jean's book, My Dolce Vida, Pamela Fiori writes about the author, "She was imposing, charismatic, full of mischief, loquacious" and she lived "a rich, multilayered life."
