A very nice wood sword cane curio. Made of natural hardwood that has been de-barked and painted black, it has a cylindrical handle that is 6 1/2” high and 1” thick. At the base of the handle there is a button disguised as a polished branch nib. Depressing the button allows a 28” triangular blade to be withdrawn from a brass tongue and groove seat. The blade is blued and decorated for 6 1/2” and is in very good condition. The shaft has several polished branch nibs and ends with a very good 1” replaced brass ferrule. The overall length is 35 1/2” and the condition is very good. , It is perhaps American, ca 1880, and it is a fine example of the type. Estimate: $650-$850
