Architecture-construction decision was made using elements of the Renaissance architecture. Renaissance style was rather typical for many bank buildings at the end of XIX century, as Renaissance palazzo-shaped building looked like fortressed palace and the architects of that epoch thus tried to show the idea of reliability and stability of a bank, as the storing place for deposit. Nowadays the building is occupied by The Primorye picture gallery. Reverse Steam Schooner “Aleut” - the fist sail-rigged steam schooner. She was built in St.Petersburg in 1862. On 1862 she left Krondstadt for Nikolayevsk-on-Amur (under the command of Captain-Lieutenant Bucholtz) with cargo belonging to the marine department on board. She was based in Vladivostok, navigating in summer seasons in the Peter the Great Bay, Sea of Japan, Sea of Oktotsk, and performing supply and guard functions, in winter she called to Na-gasaki. One creek and one cape were named after Schooner in Vladivostok, where seaman of “Aleut” cut the way through the virgin forest for the street that appeared later, the street also was named after it.
