The privy council of Würtemberg writes to the Eberhad III the Eighth Duke of Württemberg. In this letter he suggests that the duty-free treatment for a wine shipment should not be granted.
The letter is in fine condition with slight signs of wear. The paper is browned evenly due to its age, slightly stronger in the margins. It was formerly folded and smoothed. The upper with some marginal blemishes. It is glued on later paper on the left edge. Sheet size: 20 x 16.8 cm.
Johann Konrad Varnbühler (1595-1657)
Varnbühler played an important role in the peace negotiations of Westphalia peace, where he represented Württemberg. He gained the confidence of Oxenstierna, who in 1633 appointed him secretary of the Federation. He obtained the restitution of Württemberg as complete as no other princely house in Germany after the Peace of Westphalia was ever able to.
