Description
A fantastic Cajamarca bowl from northern Peru, c. 200 - 800 AD. This delicate footed pedestal bowl is 8-1/8 in in diameter and is made from orange-tinted kaolin. The interior is decorated with intricate patterns arranged in two opposing panels. The exterior features two registers of traditional designs characteristic of the type. Rate type in perfect condition, good mineral deposits. Ex Sarmiento collection.
