The very large brooch in the form of a Maltese cross was designed by the renowned company Van Cleef & Arpels in New York in the 1970s. It is slightly raised in the center and fashioned with hammered, chased and polished gold surfaces that create a visually interesting appeal. It features a hinged fold-over loop and can therefore also be worn as a pendant. The striking brooch is a true testimony to the high quality jewelry that Van Cleef & Arpels has been creating ever since they opened in 1906.
The brooch is in very good condition. It is signed with the maker 'Van Cleef & Arpels NY' and numbered with '16V227'. The diameter is 8.9 cm and it weighs 86.5 grams.
