Elvis Owned and Stage Worn Guitar Strap (1960s-70s). Elvis surrounded himself with an extensive inner circle, but from 1958 until his death in 1977, it's doubtful he spent more time with anyone than he did with Charlie Hodge who supported the King in a variety of ways - from singing harmony and acting as a stage director during Elvis' live performances to being his personal assistant. In the latter capacity, Hodge took care of Presley's guitars, periodically changing the straps. Accoriding to Hodge, this strap was worn during the filming of Elvis - That's the Way It Is in 1970.
