Description
Faron Young, Patsy Cline, and George Jones Signed Tour Program (1960). This 16-page program of 8.25" x 10.75" is for a Faron Young tour. Known as the "Young Sheriff" (after a movie role in Hidden Guns), he was a star of the Grand Old Opry and a popular Capitol Records artist. Page three is a full page B&W photo of him and bears a blue ink signature: "To Faron/ Hengst/ Be Sweet/ Faron Young". The front cover is signed by both Patsy Cline and George Jones. Three absolute legends on one item. General wear, Very Good.
There's a great story behind these autographs, told in a letter (included) from the consignor. His parents took him, at age one, to the New Mexico State Fair to see these singers. He was named after Faron Young, so after the show they took the young namesake to meet their favorite star. The story goes that Patsy Cline held him while Young and Jones signed the tour book; Faron gave him some good advice "Be Sweet." COA from Heritage Auctions.Â
