Description
Original steel-plate engraving by George Cooke (1781-1834). After J. M. W. Turner, R. A. (1775-1851). Titled "Pendennis Castle, Cornwall", built by Henry VIII in the 1540's. The image measures approximately 6 by 9 inches. In frame, measures 17.5 by 15 inches. Provenance: Plate from Turner's "Picturesque Views on the South Coast of England" (first issued 1814-1826). Triple matte frame within gilt wooden frame. Excellent condition with COA (Thos. Deans and Company, 1998).
