This is a VINTAGE 1968 book titled word and image: Posters from the Collection of the Museum of Modern Art by Mildred Constantine and Alan M. Fern.
If you are a poster fanatic then this is a must have. Hard to find in this condition and out-of-print.
Contents include the essay "Word and Image" by Alan M. Fern; bibliography by Bernard Karpel; sections include The Beginnings of the Modern Poster, Art Nouveau, The Expressionists, The Bauhaus and the New Formalism, The Diversity of Design in the Postwar Years.
All of the major art movements of the 20th century are represented here: Art Noveau, Art Deco, de Stijl, Constructivism, streamlining, Swiss, International, the Bauhaus, the new typography, etc.
Drawn from the museum's collection of more than 2,000 posters, by artists working in all styles and media, from the powerful lithographs of the turn of the century to the 'psychedelic' brilliance and technical ingenuity of today's experimenters.

Inside: Pristine condition. Immaculate with no marks, dents, tears or fading. Hardly any evidence of being looked at. Binding is tight. You will not be disappointed. Covers: Mint condition. Unique gray cardboard boards with white cloth spine. Dust jacket: Excellent condition with no damage. Very light wear.
