Description
JACOB GEORGE STRUTT (BRITISH, 1780-1864) FOUR ENGRAVINGS. From Sylva Britannica or Portraits of Forest Trees, Distinguished for their Antiquity, Magnitude. Includes The Fortworth Chestnut, The Great Chestnut in Cobham Park, Larches at Dunkeld, and Scotch-Fir at Dunmore. Unframed Sheet: 21.5" x 14.25"
Condition
These pieces all have light yellowing to the sheet and a medium amount of yellow blotchy areas in the margins. There have a light burn around the edge of the paper. Both chestnuts have a brown stain about 3" x .5" on the edge running off the one corner. The vertical chestnut print have a few .25" diameter chips to the edge of the paper missing. The Larches and Fir are mounted on board with two pieces of linen tape hinged on the back of the top corners. These prints have a light mat burn around the printed area. There is pencil writing of prices and artist name in the margin below. There is no water mark on these sheets and they are printed on a pressed paper.
