ARTIST UNKNOWN (19TH CENTURY) CART ON THE ROAD. Oil on canvas. Unsigned. Frame: 26" x 22" 16" x 20"

This piece has significant grime build up and a medium amount of yellowing. There are stretcher bar marks about 2" into the canvas on all the edges. The canvas has a faint surface texture from where age crack is beginning to form and there is visible crackle with light flaking and paint loss to the lower left quadrant. Near the middle of the upper right quadrant in the sky there is a 2" x 1.5" section that appears to have had slight aberrations, there surface has been scuffed and there are some minor cracks and slight pigment loss. There are a light amount of pen tip sized chips (10-15) with paint loss. There appears to be some paint loss on the edges were the frame is rubbing the canvas.
