Provenance: R. Kreitner, East Orange, New Jersey (presumably acquired in the 1940's); thence by descent to the present owner.

Lot Note: The present lot may have been part of a larger sheet of studies at one time. Although it is mounted with framer's corners to an unassociated sheet of white paper, the picture has not been laid down and can easily be removed.
