This lot comprises one bottle of 1997 vintage Domaine Comte Georges de Vogüé Musigny Grand Cru Cuvée Vieilles Vignes and one bottle of 1999 vintage Château de Chambolle Jacques-Frederic Mugnier Musigny Grand Cru from Burgundy.

Côte d’Or is the soul of Burgundy wine-growing culture. This rural stretch of land has produced some of the finest wines on the planet for a good two centuries. Vines thrive on the “golden hillside” between the Morvan hills and the Saône plain. The 28 districts of the Côte d’Or are geographically divided into two regions. The northern part is Côte de Nuits, named after the town of Nuits-Saint-Georges, and produces great red wines from Pinot noir. Côte de Beaune is the southern half, where valuable Chardonnay white wines on a par with Pinot noir are produced.

This Grand Cru vineyard can produce esteemed Pinot noirs that are powerful and complex with great aging potential. The vineyard is situated in the upper part of the famous Clos de Vougeot. Vines grow on a porous calciferous soil that can give the growths fineness and firmness.

1997 was an average vintage in Burgundy, the wines are ripe and have little acidity. 1999 was a good vintage, the wines have rich tannins and are great to drink today.

The fill levels are good (< 4 cm) to excellent (< 2 cm). The label of the bottle of 1996 Vogüé Musigny is slightly damaged. The other label and both capsules are in perfect condition.
