Description
John Harper Ltd. • England - Circa 1885 This iconic figural still bank is an excellent example of political satire. We find a politician swollen to gargantuan proportion by his insatiable appetite for power and political advancement. It is thought to be Paul Krueger, whose poorly reasoned policies set in to motion the Boer War. It was one of Andy’s favorite banks, so much so, that he selected it for the cover of “The Penny Bank Book”. There are but a scant few that were finished with this beautiful multi-colored surface. Incredibly, this example includes the original pipe. Material: Cast Iron Provenance: Andy & Susan Moore Collection Reference: Penny Bank Book #1
