Description
American Bandstand Set Station I.D. Sign
American Bandstand began originally as a local TV show on station WFIL-TV, Philadelphia. The show first aired in September 1952 as just Bandstand, hosted by WFIL radio disc jockey Bob Horn. Dick Clark joined the show, still local, in 1956. To identify the TV station to the viewing audience, one of the cameras on the show would do a close-up focus on the black sign with bold, vintage-style chrome letters that read "WFIL TV." 13 1/4 x 5 1/2
