Description
Before the British toy manufacturer Selcol made The Beatles toy guitars that are so highly coveted by Beatles collectors, they were making hard plastic Elvis guitars, which are equally difficult to find. Inside the body the guitar is labeled with serial number 001012. The round label also indicates Selcol was the manufacturer and Styron was the brand of high impact plastic that was used. The top of the bridge has an inset-mounted illustration of Elvis, and the body has a raised plastic silver-toned Elvis Presley facsimile signature. The guitar face is constructed of white, oak brown and silver color plastic pieces; the guitar body is of a dark brown, marbleized plastic. Has original black and red corded strap with a tassle end. The headstock is broken and has been re-attached with adhesive; the bridge and two metal guitar strings are missing. 32 x 11 x 2 3/4.
